Rain showers to persist in Batanes, Babuyan; hot, humid in the rest of PH

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Tuesday, March 28 said two weather systems, the shear line and easterlies, will affect the country in the next 24 hours.

The shear line or the boundary line where cold and warm air masses meet will bring cloudy weather with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to Batanes and Babuyan Islands.

Due to the occurrence of moderate to heavy rains in these areas, PAGASA warned against possible flooding or landslides, particularly in areas that are highly vulnerable to these hazards.

Meanwhile, the easterlies or the warm air from the Pacific Ocean will bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms throughout the rest of the country.

In its extended weather outlook for key areas from March 28 to 31, PAGASA said that maximum air temperatures may reach 34-35 degrees Celsius (℃) in Metro Manila, 35-36℃ in Tuguegarao City, 26℃ in Baguio City, 31-32℃ in Tagaytay City, 33-34℃ in Puerto Princesa City, 32℃ in Metro Cebu, 33-34℃ in Metro Davao, and 34-35℃ in Zamboanga City.

PAGASA also advised the public to stay vigilant as there may be flooding or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
