Priest wanted for alleged rape of minor nabbed in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY - A priest wanted for the crime of rape was arrested in Barangay Estefania here on Monday, March 27. Police withheld the name of the 62-year-old suspect who is from Looc, Romblon. Sagay Police Chief Lt. Col. Roberto Indiape Jr. said the victim, who was a minor, alleged that she was raped by the priest last year. The victim was a member of the choir in a Church in Sagay City, according to Indiape. Based on a police report, the arrest warrant with no recommended bail was issued by Executive Judge Reginald Fuentebella of Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 73 in Sagay City on March 7, 2023.
