"These patrolwomen are exemplary models for standing their ground in a situation where their integrity was put to a test," Mayor Cayetano said. Bin Li tried to bribe the two police officers for the release of his friend, Deng Jiliang, 33, who works as an IT staff in a company in BGC. Deng was arrested by the police for possession of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia. Cayetano noted that March is Women’s Month and the two officers emphasized that Filipino women are reliable, and can be trusted to do the right thing. "When you're put in a situation where you have to choose between what's right and personal gain, and you choose what's right, that just shows the type of person you are. That's exactly who our policewomen and our Taguig Police are, and that's really something to be very proud of," the mayor said. Col. Robert Baesa, Taguig police chief, also commended the female police officers. “This exemplary act is worth emulating and I urge all police officers under my watch to do the same. Let’s continue to serve and protect the public with integrity,” he said. Bin Li will be charged for violation of Republic Act 3019 (Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act).
