The City Health Office (CHO) is preparing to inoculate 200,000 children in Zamboanga City as the government’s vaccination program against COVID-19 expands to this particular age group.
The City Health Office (CHO) has started registration of eligible children and is preparing a list of vaccination sites for the program.
The local government unit is also stepping up its information dissemination campaign to promote vaccination among parents and children.
Dr. Dulce Miravite, City Health Officer, said the city is waiting for vaccines from the Department of Health which are suitable for this sector.
A lower dosage of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine is recommended for the inoculation of the eligible children.
Miravite advised parents and guardians to prepare the child’s birth certificate or certificate of guardianship and identification cards for both parents and children.
Parents and guardians of children with comorbidities are also required to present a doctor or medical certificate.
