WHO: More than 500 deaths due to nCoV; confirmed cases now over 28,000

The death toll due to the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) has soared past 500 with over 28,000 confirmed cases in 25 countries, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

Data from the WHO Health Emergency Dashboard on 2019-nCoV as of February 6, showed that there are 28,276 confirmed cases with 565 deaths. China, where the deadly virus outbreak originated, has 28,060 2019-nCoV confirmed cases to date.
Other countries with confirmed cases of the 2019-nCoV include:
Japan: 45 Cases
Singapore: 28 Cases
Thailand: 25 Cases
Republic of Korea: 23 Cases
Australia: 14 Cases
Germany: 12 Cases
Malaysia: 12 Cases
United States of America: 12 Cases
Vietnam: 10 Cases
France: 6 Cases
Canada: 5 Cases
United Arab Emirates: 5 Cases
India: 3 Cases
Philippines: 3 Cases
Italy: 2 Cases
Russian Federation: 2 Cases
United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland: 2 Cases
Cambodia: 1 Case

Based on the tracking made by Johns Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering, there are 28,344 global cases of nCoV with 565 reported deaths - 563 of these deaths are recorded in China, 1 in Hong Kong and 1 in the Philippines. It noted that there 1, 286 cases with total recovery.
Meanwhile, Department of Health (DOH) reported that the country has still three confirmed cases of the 2019-nCoV involving Chinese nationals from Wuhan, China.
DOH said that there are currently 178 patients under investigation (PUIs); 147 are admitted and isolated in hospitals; 10 have refused admission; and 16 have been discharged “under strict monitoring.”
