ILOILO CITY — More than a million children ages five to 11-years-old should get vaccinated against COVID-19 in Western Visayas region.
Dr. Renilyn Reyes, chief of DOH-6’s Public Health Project Development, disclosed that the target for the rollout of COVID-19’s pediatric vaccination is around 1,080,597 kids.

In a virtual press conference, Reyes said the rollout will be gradual starting on February 14.
The province of Negros Occidental has the biggest number of target with 363,249 kids to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
It is followed Iloilo province with 267,470 kids and Capiz with 102,122 kids.
The other targets are 95,437 kids in Antique province; 84,356 kids in Aklan province; 81,737 kids in Bacolod City; 61,872 kids in Iloilo City; and 24,354 kids in Guimaras province.
The DOH-6 is coordinating with local government units (LGUs) across Western Visayas in preparation for the start of the rollout next week.
The DOH-6 reiterated to local health officials and parents to register their children for vaccination.
Reyes also urged parents to tell their children ahead of time the schedule vaccination.
