The Victor R. Potenciano (VRP) Medical Center in Mandaluyong City is appealing to
suspected and confirmed coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patients to seek medical assistance from other health facilities.
Dr. Aileen Riego-Javier, the hospital’s medical director, made the statement Saturday reiterating that the hospital has already reached its full capacity for COVID-19 cases.
“For COVID suspected or confirmed patients, we regret that we can no longer accommodate you at this time. We ask you to please proceed to other hospitals or facilities,” Riego-Javier said in an advisory.
“Our Emergency Department is already operating beyond its capacity, and further over-crowding will impair our ability to provide the needed patient care in a safe manner,” she added.
On July 15, the medical facility announced that it had reached full bed capacity with the recent surge of COVID-19 cases on their COVID assigned floors, wards, Emergency Room, and Intensive Care Unit.

“Although we would like to continue serving our dear patients, we regret that we have reached our full capacity for COVID-19 admissions,” said Riego-Javier in an earlier statement.
“It is our desire to fulfill our mission to provide medical care, but we must also ensure that the level of care remains uncompromised,” she added.
With this, the hospital official has appealed to the public to observe strict health and safety measures.
“With your help, we can slow down the drastic surge in COVID cases,” she said.
