The Office of the Vice President (OVP) on Tuesday honored health workers and frontliners who were benefited by its free shuttle service during the initial month of the enhanced community quarantine.
Vice President Leni Robredo said the Department of Transportation (DOTr) agreed to continue the bus service in the wake of the suspended public transport due to the Luzon-wide lockdown.

“We are glad to inform our valued passengers that DOTr has added routes to their shuttle service, based on our Route 3 and Route 4,” she said in a Facebook post.
”We are also reaching out to the Quezon City local government, which also currently provides free rides,” Robredo added.
Robredo’s office shared its experiences and recommended to the DOTr the bus stops, pick-up/drop-off points, and routes that pass various public and private hospitals in Metro Manila.
The initiative was implemented in partnership with the private sector. OVP staff and volunteers ran the operations since it started on March 18, 2020.
There were nine buses for eight routes that transport 450 health workers and frontliners daily.
On the final day of OVP’s shuttle service, Robredo paid tribute to the volunteers, health workers, and frontliners.
“Thank you so much for your solidarity, and it was an honor to bring you to your destination,” Robredo said.
