The eldest of the six jeepney drivers and another companion who were arrested for staging a protest in Caloocan City last week will have to remain behind bars even though the four others are already released by the court.

Elmer Cordero, 72, has not been set free on Monday as court records showed that he has a namesake with existing criminal charges.
Wilson Ramilla, 43, will also stay in jail as the court did not give him clearance due to an existing carnapping case. One of their lawyers, Vj Topacio, said that Ramilla admitted that he was charged in 2010 but had already served time.
Those who have been released are Severino Ramos, 59; Ramon Paloma, 48; Ruben Baylon, 59; and Arsenio Ymas Jr, 56 after their camp posted P3,000 bail for each of them.
All of them have charged for simple resistance and disobedience to a person in authority and have been detained for six days until the four were released.
They were arrested for staging protest to call for the resumption of their operations.
Several progressive groups, including transport group PISTON, and other individuals are calling for the immediate release of the Cordero and Ramilla for humanitarian purposes.
The freed drivers have expressed their gratitude to those who supported them.
"Mabuti na lamang at dumating ang tulong mula sa iba’t ibang organisasyon at indibidwal, hindi lang para sa amin na nasa kulungan kundi para rin sa mga pamilyang naiwan sa bahay ," Paloma said.
