IMUS CITY - The total lockdown in Barangay Molino III, Bacoor, Cavite, has been extended for another week after three more coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases were reported in the area lately, the Bacoor City government said.
Mayor Lani Mercado-Revilla signed Memorandum Order No. 27-2020 last Thursday, extending the lockdown in Molino III from 12:01 a.m. of May 1 to 11:59 p.m. of May 7, with all the guidelines and rules previously set in the area to remain enforced.
Revilla declared Molino III under lockdown from April 24 to 30 by virtue of Executive Order No. 16 that she signed days before its implementation.
Molino III has the biggest population among Bacoor’s 73 barangays, and hosts a number of business establishments.
The authorities said that a total of 15 COVID-19 cases from Molino III have already been reported.
Police, along with the Army personnel and barangay (village) officers, will be keeping a tighter watch in Molino III with the lockdown extension enforcement and so with the other areas.
The other barangays in Bacoor also observed with a number of cases were Molino IV, with nine; Molino V and Panapaan VIII, with six each; Mambog I, III and IV with three each, Queens Row West and Central with three each; and Salinas I and Molino I, also with three each.
The authorities, citing data from their city health office, reported Thursday that Bacoor now has a total 79 cases with the inclusion lately of the two cases, including one from Molino III.
Of the 79 cases involving patients from the city's different barangays (villages),10 reportedly have already died and that 17 have recovered after treatment.
At least 58 probable cases and 25 suspected cases have also been reported in the city in the latest update.
Bacoor, Cavite's second most populated city, has the most number of COVID-19 cases among the province's cities and municipalities.
Bacoor is the nearest city in the southern areas of Metro Manila.
