After a “careful discernment” on the character, platform, and track records of all the presidential and vice presidential candidates for the 2022 national elections, thousands of Lasallian educators have signed a statement of support for Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan.

In a joint statement on Thursday, March 3, Lasallian brothers and educators from various campuses of the De La Salle University (DLSU) have signed a statement of support for the Robredo-Pangilinan tandem.
The initial batch had a total of 1,002 educators who have signed the endorsement for the tandem. However, the DLS Brothers said that the list will be updated as they are “still receiving more signatures as of posting time.”
“The coming May 2022 elections, in the words of Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno “will influence the direction of whether we will be a nation after God’s heart or not,” they said.
The educators disclosed that they opted to vote for leaders who propose a vision that can “unite people in the pursuit of common good,” leaders who “possess the moral integrity to command trust” from citizens and the civil society, as well as leaders who have “proven a track record of empowering disempowered and underserved sectors” of the society.
“We firmly believe that Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Kiko Pangilinan are the most qualified for the said positions respectively. With this decision we are able to heed the call of our Bishops. Let us stand up for truth. Remember: goodness without truth is pretense. Service without truth is manipulation. There can be no justice without truth. Even charity, without truth, is only sentimentalism. An election or any process that is not based on truth is but a deception and cannot be trusted,” they reiterated.
