The Taguig City government opened its very own quarantine facility on Saturday, as the city continues its proactive approach in fighting COVID-19.

According to Mayor Lino Cayetano, who led the opening of the facility, it will help house people exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms but whose test results have not yet been released.
The mayor said COVID-19 suspects will be invited to the facility if they cannot isolate themselves in their own homes for fear they will spread the virus to their loved ones.
"More than 80 percent ng ating mga kababayan di kailangang maadmit. Pero kahit di ka nakaadmit, malaki tsansa na makahawa ka (More than 80 percent of our citizens are not required to be admitted. But even if you're not admitted there's a big chance you can infect others)," Cayetano said,
According to Mayor Lino, if the suspected case tests negative for COVID-19, he or she can sheltered at the Lakeshore facility, or can be sent home.
If the suspected case tests positive for COVID-19, he or she will be referred to the national government's accredited hospitals.
The Lakeshore facility has 40 beds, and is only one of the five quarantine facilities in Taguig. Cayetano said the city government would add another 200 beds for use in the fight against COVID-19.
"Walang cure ngayon pero ang importante at ang kalaban is yung aspeto ng virus na to na napakalakas makahawa. So if merong may sakit pero maiisolate naman natin, matitigil ho natin pag-ikot ng virus (There's no cure now but the important thing is we need to contain this virus which quickly spreads. So if one gets infected, we can isolate that person so the virus does not circulate)," Cayetano said.#
