Taguig COVID-19 cases now at 19; 1 death

By Jel Santos The local government unit (LGU) of Taguig City said it has 19 confirmed cases of coronavirus disease and one death as of 8:30 p.m. Monday (March 23). Ana (1), Ususan (1), Central Signal (1), Fort Bonifacio (7), Maharlika Village (2), Upper Bicutan (2), and Western Bicutan (2). Meantime, city government data showed there are now 74 persons under investigation (PUIs). Mayor Lino Cayetano said the number of COVID-19 cases in Taguig continues to rise, so extra precautions must be observed to stop the spread of the disease. “Patuloy na dumarami ang mga kaso ng COVID-19 sa buong Pilipinas, pati ho sa atin sa Taguig, nadagdagan na ho. Kaya kailangan ho lalong maghigpit na tayo, sa barangay, sa komunidad, at sa ating mga tahanan,” he said in a Facebook Live post Monday night. (The number of COVID-19 cases keeps on increasing in the Philippines, as well as here in Taguig. Because of this, we need to take extra precautions in our barangays, communities, and our homes.) The mayor for the cooperation of all the residents to win the battle against COVID-19. On March 17, Cayetano ordered the lockdown of the city to curb the spread of COVID-19. Like other LGUs in Metro Manila, Taguig City is also imposing a curfew as agreed upon by Metro mayors in an emergency meeting of the Metro Manila Council.
