San Miguel Corporation (SMC) announced on Friday that all toll fees will be waived on all its expressways for health workers amid coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
SMC said these include STAR Tollway, South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), Skyway, NAIAX, and Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX).
To avail the tollway free passes, medical personnel need to secure a special RFID sticker from SMC tollways or have their existing RFID sticker converted. Health workers must need to present their Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) license card to avail the free RFID stickers. The corporation has set up temporary booths to avail the passes at Shell Magallanes gas station and NAIAx toll gate from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. SMC added that they will make toll-free RFID stickers at major locations soon. “We hope that with this program, our medical frontliners would have one less thing to worry about. Maraming salamat sa inyo! (Thank you for your service!),” SMC said in a statement.SMC waives toll fee for medical frontliners.
