Six Philippine Heart Center doctors test positive for COVID-19

By Joseph Pedrajas At least six doctors of the Philippine Heart Center (PHC) already tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), an official of the health facility confirmed Tuesday. Dr. Joel Abanilla, executive director of the PHC, said that this includes Drs. Raul Jara and Israel Bactol, who already died due to the disease. "The others are relatively doing well," Abanilla said over DZBB interview. The two doctors who passed away had other existing medical conditions and were the ones who had been intubated because of the seriousness of their condition, according to Abanilla. "Mga high risk ibig sabihin, may edad na. At saka may pre-existing or co-morbidity condition," he added.
