Senator Koko tests positive for COVID-19

By Andrea Aro  Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III disclosed on Wednesday that he has tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Sen. Aquilino Sen. The swab was taken last Friday, March 20, 2020," Pimentel said in a statement. The senator asked for prayers for him, and especially for his wife, who is about to give birth anytime. "I would like to ask for your prayers, especially for my wife Kath, who is about to give birth in the next few days to our first baby girl, and with whom I cannot be with at this very important point in our lives as parents," the senator said. Pimentel said he would call, to the best of his ability, those whom he met during those crucial days to inform them of his test result. "I have quarantined myself upon the doctor's advice and consistent with the protocol. I feel I am, with God's help, on my way to recovery," he said. Recently, Senate Juan Miguel Zubiri also tested positive for COVID-19. As of Tuesday (March 24), the confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country has reached 501 and claimed 33 lives. READ MORE: Sen.
