DSWD Undersecretary Rene Glen Paje said aside from the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), they hope to distribute the second tranche of emergency subsidies to other regions in the coming days.
In the coming days, the agency will start distributing the subsidy to the families who are in the ECQ areas, he said.
He noted that those areas which were placed under ECQ and modified ECQ last June 15 such as Cebu City and Talisay City are included in the second phase implementation of SAP.
Covered by the second phase implementation of SAP are Region III, except Aurora province, the NCR; CALABARZON; Benguet; Pangasinan; Iloilo; Cebu Province; Bacolod City; Davao City, Albay Province and Zamboanga City.
On June 16, Tuesday, the DSWD started the SAP payout to waitlisted beneficiaries in Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
Around 266 families from Kapangan, Benguet and 290 families from Baguio City received P5,500 each during June 16 pilot payout activities, the DSWD said.
Last week, the DSWD distributed more than P6.74 billion worth of second tranche of cash subsidies to over 1.3 million beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) who are cash card holders.
DSWD Assistant Secretary for Policy and Plans Joseline P. Niwane said around 17 million family-beneficiaries are expected to receive the second wave of subsidies, including the five million "waitlisted" beneficiaries.
"Magiging 17 million ngayong second tranche , including po yung five million kasi po yung ating ECQ areas ay 12 million families," she said in a radio interview on Thursday, June 18.
