The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) expressed confidence on Sunday, May 24 that the distribution of Social Amelioration Program (SAP) in Metro Manila will be completed by tomorrow, May 25.
Citing their latest SAP data, DSWD-National Capital Region (NCR) Regional Director Vicente Gregorio Tomas disclosed that as of 5 p.m., May 23, 16 of the 17 local government units (LGUs) in Metro Manila have completed their SAP payouts.
"Only Makati City is still conducting SAP payout, as of this report," he told the Manila Bulletin in a text message.
When asked if Makati City will be able to complete the SAP distribution by tomorrow, Tomas said, "Kaya naman. (It is possible.)"
Tomas said the 16 LGUs that registered 100-percent SAP payout are the cities of Caloocan, Marikina, Valenzuela, Pasig, Parañaque, Manila, Mandaluyong, Malabon, Pasay, Las Piñas, San Juan, Muntinlupa, Navotas, Taguig, and Quezon City, and the municipality of Pateros.
"The 16 LGUs that are 100-percent compliant to SAP implementation are complying with the liquidation template and continously submitting names of leftouts within their respective localities," he said.
The DSWD official disclosed that a total of 1,548,021 families or 99.32 percent of 1,558, 615 target low-income, non-Pantawid Pamilya families targeted to receive the cash subsidy in the NCR have been served, so far.
The non-4Ps beneficiaries got their SAP aid, amounting to P12.384 billion.
"The number of non 4Ps beneficiaries who received SAP Grants for NCR is 1,548,021 families or 99.32 percent, equivalent to 12,384,168,000.00 billion pesos," Tomas said.
The DSWD transferred P12.46 billion SAP funds to 17 LGUs to benefit 1,558, 615 target low-income, non-4Ps families in the NCR.
The breakdown of the P12.46 billion SAP funds dowloaded to Metro Manila LGUs is as follows: Manila, P1.485 billion; Quezon City, P3.020 billion; Caloocan P1.726 billion; Las Piñas, P541.9 million; Malabon, P335.048 million; Makati, P558.30 million; Mandaluyong, P368.37 million; Marikina, P449.88 million; Muntinlupa, P430.68 million; Navotas, P223.82 million; Parañaque, P621.39 million; Pasay, P370.28 million; Pasig, P750.93 million; Pateros, P53.65 million; San Juan, P130.47 million; Taguig, P739.77 million; and Valenzuela, P661.66 million.
