President Duterte has appointed his economic adviser Ramon Jacinto as new undersecretary of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

(Facebook / MANILA BULLETIN) Jacinto, a known musician and businessman, assumes the post vacated by Eliseo Rio who has resigned. "The Palace confirms that Mr. Ramon P. Jacinto has been appointed Undersecretary of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), co-terminous with the appointing authority on 22 May 2022,” Presidential spokesman Harry Roque said. "We are confident that Undersecretary Jacinto will serve DICT with dedication and integrity and will contribute to achieving the Department's mandate under the current administration,” he added. Jacinto was appointed Presidential Adviser on Economic Affairs and Information Technology back in July 2016. The President recently accepted the resignation of Rio that was tendered three months ago. The Palace has expressed gratitude to Rio for his invaluable services to the nation. "We wish him well in his future endeavors," Roque said. # Attachments area
