Twelve more COVID-19 deaths were reported in Quezon City raising the death toll to 118 while nine new recoveries brought the tally to 142 as of 7 p.m. of April 25, the Quezon City Health Department (QCHD) bared.
In the same QCHD report, the top barangays with the most number of COVID-19 cases are Batasan Hill, 46; Matandang Balara, 37; New Era, 28; and Bahay Toro, 26.
Interestingly, the report also indicated that all district two barangays namely Batasan Hills, 46; Holy Spirit, 19; Commonwealth,12; Payatas, 10 and Bagong Silangan, 10, have double digit COVID-19 cases.
On a positive note, the number of COVID-19 cases in Quezon City remained unchanged at 1,104 as of 7 p.m. of April 25, based on Department of Health (DOH) statistics.
Like in the past tallies, the number of COVID-19 validated cases by the Quezon City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (QCESU) and District Health Offices differed with that of the DOH data at 825, 37 more than previous 788.
From the previous 956, the total number of confirmed cases with complete addresses in Quezon City is up by four at 960 as reported by the QCHD.
In the same QCHD report, the number of active COVID-19 cases in the city-pertaining to those still alive and have not fully recovered stood at 565 16 more than the previous 549.

Extreme Enhanced Community Quarantine (EECQ)
Mayor Joy Belmonte said the city government implements the EECQ in barangays with two or more confirmed COVID-19 cases and in various streets and/or in congested urban poor areas where fast transmission is most likely to occur.
However, Belmonte said this will still be subjected to daily review depending on the number of cases/recoveries.
She noted the newly reported barangays with two cases have not yet been included in the list as they are still undergoing validation.
As of 7 p.m. of April 25, the Quezon City government is enforcing extreme enhanced community quarantine in the following barangays:
Tandang Sora, Kalusugan, Ramon Magsaysay, Maharlika, Tatalon, Batasan Hills, Pasong Tamo, Central, San Roque Paligsahan, Bagong Lipunan ng Crame, South Triangle, Culiat, Bahay Toro, E. Rodriguez, San Isidro Labrador,
Matandang Balara, Teachers Village West, Manresa, Paltok, Sto. Domingo, Bagong Silangan, Holy Spirit,
Payatas, Marilag, Socorro, Kamuning, Pinyahan, San Isidro Galas, Commonwealth, Pansol, North Fairview,
Novaliches Proper and New Era.
HOPE 1 Facility
As of April 25, 2020, HOPE 1 quarantine facility is fully occupied with 41 COVID-19 confirmed and suspected patients housed in the facility.
HOPE 2 Facility
At present, 199 rooms are still available in the facility as 119 are occupied by confirmed and suspected COVID-19 patients.
Those who have been tested in QC’s community-based testing are brought in HOPE 2 for self isolation while waiting for their results.
Community based testing
On April 25, 142 swab tests were conducted in the city’s community-based testing centers, local government hospitals and by the QCESU.
Of the 142, 7 were done in Quezon City General Hospital; 20 in Novaliches District Hospital; 24 in Quezon Memorial Circle; 25 in SB Park Novaliches; 25 in Asian Institute of Tourism - 25; and 41 in QCESU
Belmonte noted that 139 tests were conducted separately for the members of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) bringing the test total to 281 in the same period.
Quarantine Violators
At 5 p.m. of April 25, 33 individuals were apprehended for violating the enhanced community quarantine protocols.
Social Amelioration Program
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) assisted by the city government has started distributing the financial support to its residents through the social amelioration program.
On April 25, Belmonte said that partial payouts were conducted in Barangays Holy Spirit, Kalusugan, Horseshoe and Escopa 4.
Previously partial payouts were done in Barangays Tatalon, Mangga, San Bartolome, and Commonwealth.
Belmonte said local residents may email the city government through [email protected]. If they want to raise concerns about the subsidy.
Kalingang Quezon City (QC)
As of April 25, a total of 42,898 beneficiaries have received P2,000 each from the city government as part of its financial assistance program, Kalingang QC. Belmonte said the recipients include PWDs, solo parents, senior citizens, vendors, tricycle, pedicab, jeepney, taxi and TNVS drivers.
Establishments providing loans exempted from ECQ
Belmonte signed Executive Order 29 to ensure the availability of sources of loans and credit to the poor and marginalized during the ECQ.
She noted that establishments providing microfinancing, loans or credit to local residents will be allowed to operate within Quezon City amid the ECQ amid COVID-19.
