Fifty-one new novel coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) recoveries were recorded in Quezon City, upping its total to 951 with only one reported death bringing its tally to 182 as of 7 p.m. of June 2, the Quezon City Health Department (QCHD) said.
During the same period, the Department of Health (DOH) said that the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city increased by 61 from 2,175 to 2,236.
Like in the past, the DOH stats differed as the total number of validated cases by the Quezon City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (QCESU) and District Health Offices is 1,949 for a difference of 287 during the same time frame.
In the same QCHD report, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases with complete addresses in Quezon City is now at 2,099 from the previous 2,038.
The active COVID-19 cases referring to those still alive in the city stood at 816 up by nine from the previous 807.
Top 10 Quezon City barangays with the most number of COVID-19 cases:
Barangay Culiat-48; Barangay Pasong Tamo-45; Barangay Batasan Hills-40; Barangay Tatalon-33; Barangay Bahay Toro-30; Barangay Commonwealth-28; Barangay New Era- 21; Barangays San Jose and Tandang Sora-20; Barangay Damayan Lagi-19 and Barangays Sauyo and Pinyahan-20.
HOPE 1 Facility
As of June 2, 2020, 25 COVID-19 confirmed and five suspected and probable patients are confined in the facility with 11 beds still unoccupied.
HOPE 2 Facility
Two hundred fifty eight beds are occupied by confirmed and suspected COVID-19 patients while 36 remain available in the facility as of May 29.
Those who have been tested in the city’s community-based testing are brought to HOPE 2 for self-isolation while waiting for their results.
HOPE 3 Facility
HOPE 3 facility was recently opened to accommodate confirmed and suspected COVID-19 nursing mothers and their babies.
The facility is equipped with 84 beds, cribs, bassinets and other baby essentials.
As of June 2, 48 patients are admitted in the facility.
Special Concern Lockdown (SCL) areas
The Quezon City government has placed certain areas in Barangays Bahay Toro, Culiat, Sauyo, Batasan Hills and Tatalon under 14-day special concern lockdown since May 13 due to their high number and clustering of COVID-19 cases.
Initial areas under special concern lockdown include:
Sitio Militar in Brgy. Bahay Toro; Vargas Compound-Adelfa Metro Heights-Abanay and Ancop Canada in Brgy. Culiat;
Lower Gulod in Brgy. Sauyo; 318 Dakila St., 2nd Alley Kalayaan B and Masbate St. in Brgy. Batasan Hills and Victory Avenue, ROTC Hunters, BMA Avenue and Agno St. in Brgy. Tatalon.
Additional areas as of May 25, 2020:
Certeza Compound in Bgy. Culiat; Alley 2, Homart Road in Bgy. Baesa;
As of May 30, lockdown has been lifted in Masbate St. in Bgy. Batasan Hills and
Victory Avenue and BMA Avenue in Bgy Tatalon.
