QC reports 1,016 total COVID-19 cases; Mayor Belmonte signs P2.8-B supplemental budget for 2020
By Chito Chavez
The death toll of COVID-19 patients in Quezon City (QC) jumped from the previous 80 to 90 as the total number of cases breached the thousand mark with 1,016 recorded by the Department of Health (DOH) as of 7 p.m. of April 17.
As usual, the DOH data was in contrast to the total number of validated cases reported by the Quezon City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (QCESU) and the city’s District Health Offices, which stood at 690 or 326 less during the same period.
On the bright side, the Quezon City Health Department (QCHD) reported seven new recoveries, bringing the total to 83.
During the same period, the QCHD said the total number of confirmed cases with complete addresses in Quezon City has now reached 848, up by 20 from the previous 828.
The same QCHD report revealed that the number of active COVID-19 cases in the city -- pertaining to those who are still alive and have not fully recovered -- dropped to 517 from the previous 518.
