Provincial govt assists 78 Pangasinenses stranded at border control points

By Liezle Basa Inigo DAGUPAN CITY — The provincial government assisted another 78 Pangasinenses stranded at regional border control points in the Tarlac-Rosales boundary and in the Tarlac-Mangatarem boundary. (Liezle Basa Inigo / MANILA BULLETIN) There were 59 Pangasinenses stranded in the Tarlac-Rosales boundary and another 19 in the Tarlac-Mangatarem boundary. They were all allowed to enter the province on May 13. All stranded Pangasinenses were required to present three documents before being allowed to return home: certification of 14-day monitoring of their rural health unit, acceptance letter from their local government unit, and travel authority issued and signed by Pangasinan Police Provincial Director Redrico A. Maranan. Before send off, all the 78 Pangasinenses underwent RT-PCR tests using nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swabbing on May 12, the Pangasinan Information Office said. They were also required to undergo interview and assessment, in addition to the swab tests, to confirm that they have no signs and symptoms of acute respiratory infection. All of them will undergo quarantine at identified LGU quarantine facilities in their respective towns or cities while waiting for the result of their swab tests. They thanked Gov. Amado I. Espino III for the assistance extended by his office, in coordination with the PNP and the respective LGUs. The 59 returnees from the Tarlac-Rosales border include Pangasinenses from: Asingan (5), Binalonan (4). Binmaley (1), Dagupan City (4), Dasol (3), Malasiqui (7), Manaoag (2), Mangaldan (2), Mangatarem (2), Pozorrubio (1), Rosales (3), San Carlos City (1), San Fabian (1), San Manuel (8), San Nicolas (7), San Quintin (3), Sta. Barbara (1), Sto. Tomas (1), Sual (1), Tayug (1), Umingan (3), Urbiztondo (2), and Villasis (3). On the other hand, the 19 Pangasinenses who were stranded at Tarlac-Mangatarem border are from Urbiztondo (8), Infanta (6), Bugallon (4), and Aguilar (1). Earlier, the provincial government also assisted 66 Pangasinenses stranded at the two borders.
