PNP secures 1,200 Sinovac boosters

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has secured 1,200 more doses of Sinovac which will serve as the booster for police medical health workers who were inoculated by the same vaccine during the first week of March.

But Lt. Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar, PNP Officer-In-Charge, said the second dose of the Sinovac will be administered 28 days after the first dose was given.

"What is important is that we have already secured these second doses and this will be given to our police medical health workers 28 days after their first vaccination as advised by our health experts," said Eleazar.

From March 1 to 7, the first 1,200 doses of Sinovac for the first shot against the coronavirus was given to the police medical health workers at the vaccination sites at Camp Crame in Quezon City. BUt only 1,196 were vaccinated since there were four doses that were spoiled.

Aside from the Sinovac, the PNP is also expected to start the vaccination today, March 15, for the AstraZeneca vaccine doses allocated to the PNP healthcare workers.

But of the 700 Astrazeneca doses, only 350 PNP health care workers would be vaccinated since the other 350 doses are boosters.
