Archie Francisco Gamboa said the EQF, located at the PNP Transformation Oval at Camp Crame in Quezon City, has a capacity of 120 people and equipped with medical equipment similar to that of a hospital. The EQF was built with the help of SM Foundation and WTA Architecture and Designs. “This is a proof that we are continuously working to further expand the capability of the PNP for supportive healthcare system for police frontliners on duty and personnel who have been infected with the disease,” said Gamboa. After 10 days of construction and completion, among the amenities of the newly-established EQF are: Fully air-conditioned rooms with complete features, nurse station, shower and bath, and hand-wash area. Earlier, Gamboa revealed that the PNP will be opening its own test center for COVID-19, for the exclusive use of the policemen. “We are open to all possible means to mitigate the continued increase of COVID-19 cases among our law enforcers who are the country’s last line of defense in maintaining order amid the fight against this contagion,” said Gamboa. Based on PNP data, three more police personnel were infected with COVID-19. This brought to 96 the total number of policemen infected by the virus. Of the figure, three died, while 13 were able to recover. A total of 215 policemen were categorized as Probable Persons Under Investigation (Probable PUIs), while a total 357 personnel were recommended as Suspected Persons Under Investigation (Suspected PUIs). Health Service records a total of 1,020 personnel, which includes 343 Probable PUIs, 675 Suspected PUIs, and two confirmed patients, have completed self or home quarantine.
