PNP chief tests negative for COVID-19

Bernard Banac, spokesman of the Philippine National Police (PNP), said that Gamboa had no meeting with Año in the past days, or even before the Interior Secretary went on a self-quarantine on March 26. Año, it was recalled, went on a self-quarantine after finding out that four of the officials he had close contact with tested positive for COVID-19. He was tested on March 27 and on March 31, the result was out that he was positive. “PNP chief Archie Gamboa had no meeting with the SILG (Secretary of the Interior and Local Government). He is on duty, up and running the entire affairs of the PNP amid the Enhanced Community Quarantine,” said Banac. Before the Luzon-wide home quarantine, Gamboa had a limited exposure since he is yet to recover from the injuries he suffered from the helicopter crash in Laguna. Banac said that Gamboa remains healthy but strictly observing the protocols like social distancing and wearing of face mask and gloves. Recently, Banac said the Chief PNP was subjected to COVID-19 test but was tested negative.
