The Philippine National Bank (PNB) confirmed on Tuesday that one of its employees at the PNB Financial Center in Macapagal Boulevard in Pasay City has tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
“The employee has been under voluntary quarantine since March 11, 2020 and currently does not show any symptoms,” PNB said in a statement.
The bank said it is taking the matter seriously and providing support to the employee and the family.
PNB added that it is constantly disinfecting the PNB head office and other branches and offices nationwide.
The identified primary contacts were asked to go into self-quarantine and are being closely monitored and provided guidance and assistance, the bank disclosed.
“There have been no further reports of any COVID-19 infections from this exposure,” the bank said.
PNB underscored that they will continue to cooperate with the authorities amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, the Department of Health reported on Tuesday that there are now 501 individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 in the country, while the death toll remains at 33.
