Philippine COVID-19 cases rise to 803; recovered patients now 31

The confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the Philippines has already jumped to 803, the Department of Health (DOH) reported on Friday.
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said that the DOH recorded 96 new cases of COVID-19 as of Friday afternoon.
The DOH also reported that three more patients have recovered from the dreaded disease, bringing the total number of recoveries to 31.
The new patients that have recovered were all Filipinos. They are Patient 4, who is a 48-year-old man from Taguig City; Patient 66 who is a 25-year-old man from Pasig City; and Patient 42 who is 51-year-old man, also from Pasig City.
In a press briefing, Vergeire noted that all those who recovered will still have to undergo home quarantine for 14-days.
“Sila po ay pina-pauwi na may instructions na kailangan magqua-quarantine pa rin sila o self-isolate for another 14 days. Ito po ay para makasiguro tayo na hindi na po babalik o hindi kaya hindi po sila makakapanghawa kung saka-sakaling totoong may reinfection,” said Vergeire.
“Tulad ng sabi natin wala pang malawak na ebidensya para makapagsabi kung talagang may reinfection o wala. Kaya tayo nag sisiguro na dapat lahat ng recovered patients magseself-isolate pa rin ng another 14-days pag nakapag discharge na sa ospital,” she added.
Meanwhile, the DOH also recorded nine more deaths among COVID-19 patients, raising the number t 54. They were all Filipino nationals.
They are a 63-year-old man from Muntinlupa City (Patient 366); a 75-year-old man from Quezon City (Patient 637); a 72-year-old woman from Muntinlupa City (Patient 571); a 74-year-old man from Manila (Patient 178); a 71-year-old woman from Quezon City (Patient 389); an 83-year-old woman from Cavite (Patient 462); a 57-year-old man from Manila (Patient 437); a 62-year-old man from Manila (Patient 401); and a 67-year-old woman from Quezon City (Patient 306).
The DOH noted that the latest fatalities also had underlying conditions.
“Kami po ay taos pusong nakikiramay sa mga pamilyang naulila ng ating mga yumaong mga kababayan,” said Vergeire.
