PhilHealth President Ricardo Morales made the statement during a televised public briefing on Thursday.
"Whatever it takes sasagutin ng PhilHealth," he added. (“PhilHealth will be responsible for paying COVID-19 medical expenses.”)
Morales said that expenses of hospitalized patients under investigation (PUIs) for COVID-19 will also be covered. "Lahat ng hospitalized ay sasagutin iyan," he said.
Meanwhile, the PhilHealth chief said that they will not shoulder the expenses of those who are under home quarantine.
Morales said that they have already released an initial amount of P1.6 billion to help accredited hospitals in their response to the COVID-19 outbreak.
“This is part of yung P30 billion na kinasa ng PhilHealth, para maka pre-position tayo ng pondo sa lahat ng mga hospital," noted.
