PDEA chief Villanueva tests positive for COVID-19

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director-General Wilkins Villanueva confirmed Sunday, March 14 that he has tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

In a Facebook post, Villanueva said that he took a reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test at the Chinese General Hospital on March 13. The result came out as positive.

“I’m sorry to all the people that I had close contact for the past days. Please take necessary precaution,’’ Villanueva said in his post.

Villanueva asked for prayers for all those tested positive for the disease.

“Sana malagpasan natin ito (I hope we can all get through this). God bless us al," added Villanueva, who promised to be back in action.
