Pasig City gov't to distribute food coupons for public school students

Bakit po? Para hindi po ma-stunt ang growth at development ng mga bata sa panahon ng krisis (This is for the students and their family. Why? In order to boost the growth and development of the students amid the crisis),” Sotto was quoted in a report from GMA News. The mayor has also called the Department of Education (DepEd) to help in the distribution of the food coupons. Sotto added that only one representative of the household will claim the coupon and will have to present the identification card of the student. “Sasabihin po namin ang guidelines sa susunod na araw. Sinabi po namin ito ngayon para alam niyo po na may parating (Further guidelines will be announced on the following days. We only announced this so you will be informed of the situation),” he said. On Monday (March 23), Pasig City started distributing food packs to its residents. The food packs, which is worth more than P158 million, contains rice and canned goods. Each food pack costs P397. Sotto announced last week that the city government has procured food packs as part of its efforts to aid Pasigueños affected by the quarantine enforced by the national government due to the threat of COVID-19.
