Pasay City General Hospital nears full-bed capacity

Pasay City General Hospital (PCGH), the lone public hospital in the city, is nearing full-bed capacity due to the surge in coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases.

According to Dr. Jonvic de Gracia, PCGH officer-in charge, the hospital has a total of 75 percent confirmed wards and 55 percent COVID-19 transition rooms occupancy.

Gracia said that as of March 15, out of their 36 wards bed capacity, 27 beds are already occupied.

He said there is also a big number of positive patients at the emergency room of the hospital for possible admission.

The PCGH is now coordinating with the One Hospital Command Center of the Department of Health for the possible admission of patients that they can no longer admit.

Based on the report of the City Health Office (CHO), the city recorded a total of 783 active cases and 96 new cases.

The city government placed under the localized community quarantine a total of 83 barangays with 555 cases and 115 clusters.
