Partly cloudy skies, isolated rain showers to persist due to easterlies
The hot and humid weather may continue throughout the country for the rest of the week because of the prevalence of warm air from the Pacific Ocean, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Monday, March 27.
In the next 24 hours, PAGASA said partly cloudy to cloudy weather will prevail over the entire archipelago due to the easterlies—or warm air originating from the Pacific Ocean.
However, weather specialist Obet Badrina said there may be isolated rain showers or thunderstorms that may occur in the afternoon or evening due to localized thundestorms.
In its extended weather outlook for key areas from March 28 to 31, PAGASA said that maximum air temperatures may reach 34-35 degrees Celsius (℃) in Metro Manila, 35-36℃ in Tuguegarao City, 25-26℃ in Baguio City, 32-33℃ in Tagaytay City, 33℃ in Puerto Princesa City, 32℃ in Metro Cebu, 34-35℃ in Metro Davao, and 35-36℃ in Zamboanga City.
There is still a slight chance of a tropical cyclone forming within the country’s area of responsibility this week, Badrina added.
