LINGAYEN – At least five patients, who previously tested for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), have tested negative, and are well on their way to recovery, the Provincial Health Office (PHO) reported April 8.

This first batch of recoveries came one after the other at the start of Holy Week.
The first to recover was a 50-year-old nurse, who lives in Malasiqui town, but has been discharged from the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital (PPH) last April 2.
She was reported to have recovered from pneumonia and tested negative after a repeat polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.
The second recovery was a 68-year-old male from Pozorrubio who had travel history to the United States. He was admitted at the Medical City-Ortigas in Pasig City on March 14, and was also discharged when he tested negative of the virus.
The third was a 75-year-old female from Bayambang who was admitted at the Region 1 Medical Center in Dagupan City on March 13. Her possible exposure to COVID-19 was in Manila.
The fourth survivor was a 70-year-old male from Rosales who also had travel history to the United States. He was confined at the Urdaneta District Hospital on March 24, and discharged after testing negative for the coronavirus.
The fifth patient who recovered was a 29-year old, male from Urdaneta City who had travel history to Japan. He was admitted on March 10 at R1MC.
Based on figures culled by the PHO from city and municipal health offices, Pangasinan has 31 COVID-19 patients with five recoveries. Of this number, 17 are still confined, while nine have perished, as of 7 p.m. on April 8.
There were 47 recoveries among patients under investigation (PUIs), while 43 are still confined, and 10 have died.
Meanwhile ,the provincial government has conducted another series of misting cannon operations in Obong ,Basista; Salomague, Bugallon and in Libsong West, Lingayen.
The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office started distributing vitamins, surgical masks and alcohol to local government units (LGU) in Districts 1, 2 and 3.
Each LGU received 120 boxes of Vitamin B and Vitamin C, respectively, 400 pieces of surgical masks and 15 liters of alcohol.
