PANGASINAN – The province recorded its 59th coronavirus disease (COVID-19 ) on Friday, June 5.
Provincial Health Office (PHO) Chief Dr. Anna Ma. Teresa de Guzman said the patient, 30 years old, female, and from Barangay Paitan, Sta. Maria town, had travel history to Metro Manila.
As such, Sta. Maria Mayor Julius Ramos locked down the villages of Paitan, Cauplasan and Samon to contain the spread of the virus.
The Sta, Maria COVID 19 case brought the total number of cases in Pangasinan to 59.
In Polo Alaminos City , was placed under heavy quarantine by City Mayor Bryan Celeste.
The city’s patient first underwent a rapid test and was later confirmed positive through a reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test.
Of the 59 COVID 19 cases , Dagupan recorded 22, while the rest came from the other areas of Pangasinan.
