PANGASINAN – The province recorded its 42nd coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19 ), as announced Sunday by the Provincial Health Office (PHO).
PHO Chief Dr. Anna Ma. Teresa de Guzman said the patient was a 28-year-old male from Barangay Cabalitian, Sual, who works as a fish dealer in Malabon in Metro Manila, and who arrived in Sual on May 11. He had been considered a probable COVID-19 case because of his travel history.
Of the 42 cases in the province, 30 have already recovered, three are still confined at hospital, while nine have already succumbed to the viral disease.
A swab sample was taken from the latest COVID-19 case last May 19, and the result came out positive on May 24, according to de Guzman.
De Guzman said persons who had close contact with patient where now being identified and subjected to swab testing.
