Pangasinan COVID-19 update: 36 confirmed cases, 9 deaths, 15 recoveries

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – The province has so far recorded 36 confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), 15 recoveries, 12 confined patients, and nine deaths.
The provincial government also reported that the number of patients under investigation (PUIs) or COVID-19 suspects reached 179, as of 9 a.m., April 19, with 58 confined patients, 89 recoveries, and 32 deaths.
Fifty-four of these PUIs were still waiting for their test results, while 112 have already tested negative.
Of the 32 deaths, 19 tested negative, while 12 were awaiting results when they died, and one had no specimen collected.
Meanwhile, the provincial governemnt reported Sunday that construction of an additional quarantine facility was underway at the Half-way House in Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan.
The Provincial Infomation Office said that Pangasinan Contractors Association, through Engr. Carlito Dion, has funded the construction of the Emergency Quarantine Facility of the Sta. Barbara Halfway House.
The construction of the emergency facility was expected to be completed next week.
The halfway house will be an additional space for persons under investigation (PUIs) who have tested negative, but still need to complete their 14-day quarantine period, according to Provincial Health Officer Anna Ma. Teresa De Guzman .
The Emergency Quarantine Facility is a one-story, 6x24-meter building which can house up to sixteen beds.
Worth P600,000, the project was donated by Pangasinan Contractors Association, while the ventilation and other amenities will be shouldered by the provincial government of Pangasinan.
