The Baguio Flower Festival Foundation moved Panagbenga-related activities to March as a precautionary measure against the 2019 novel Coronavirus acute respiratory disease (2019-nCoV ARD).

The festival's opening parade was moved to March 21 from February 1.
The Street Dance Parade will be held on March 28 and the Grand Float Parade will be moved to March 28.
Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong previously canceled the famed Panagbenga Festival following the World Health Organization (WHO) declaration of the coronavirus as a global health emergency.
Meanwhile, tourism activities in some parts of the Cordillera region have been halted amid the virus scare. The municipalities of Atok, Benguet and Tinglayan, Kalinga have decided to postpone all tourism activities and close all tourist attractions as part of a precautionary measure against the spread of the Coronavirus.
To date, there are three confirmed cases of nCoV in the Philippines.
On Sunday, the death toll in mainland China from the virus surged to at least 811, with the total number of infections in the country rising to 37,198.
