PAL introduces additional safety measures for flights

By MB Online The Philippine Airlines announced on May 6, Wednesday, the additional safety measures for its passenger once travel restrictions are lifted.
Passengers booking for flights are required to wear face masks and go through body temperature checks before entering the ticketing office. The “no mask, no entry” policy will also be enforced, said PAL. Social distancing inside the ticketing office will be observed, with transparent barriers installed at ticketing counters. Passengers are encouraged to check-in online before flying and must arrive early at the airport before departure. For international flights, passengers must be at the airport four hours before departure, while those with domestic flights must be present three hours before departure. Passengers are allowed to carry onboard up to 10 100ml bottles of sanitizers with up to 70 percent alcohol. All PAL airport staff will wear protective gear such as masks and gloves. The airline assured its passengers that its cabin will be cleaned and disinfected regularly. All crew members will wear full personal protective equipment (PPEs). The cabin is equipped with High-Efficiency Particulate Arrestor (HEPA) filters that are capable of filtering microscopic bacteria and virus clusters, including the novel coronavirus with 99.99 percent efficiency, similar to what is used in hospital operating rooms. All passengers will also be required to wear face masks upon entry at the airport terminal and for the duration of the flight. Due to the government’s extension of the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) period in Metro Manila and in several high-risk areas, all PAL international and domestic flights are canceled up to May 15.
