OWWA said this after learning that there are private vehicles outside the Ninoy International Aquino Airport offering transportation to OFWs in exchange for a big amount.
According to OWWA, these people are posing as their staff.
"The Hatid-Sundo service of OWWA now that there is the Enhanced Community Quarantine in Luzon is for free," OWWA said in a Facebook post.
"Anybody, who will be proven as using the name of OWWA to dupe others, will be held liable and answerable to justice," the post further read.
OWWA advised OFWs to coordinate only with their legitimate staff at NAIA Terminals 1, 2 and 3.
The agency said those who have complaints may also report to their 1348 hotline.
Launched on March 17, 2020, the “Hatid-Sundo sa Stranded OFWs” provide free transport service to OFWs heading to and from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminals in view of the implementation of the Luzonwide enhanced community quarantine due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) threat.
Seven buses were mobilized to pick up OFWs at the NAIA Terminals 1, 2 and 3, for transport to designated drop-off points in Dau, Pampanga; Calamba, Laguna; and within the National Capital Region.
OFWs scheduled to fly overseas within the community quarantine period may also avail of the free-transport service of OWWA in going to NAIA.
The free-transport assistance of OWWA shall continue until the community quarantine is lifted.
