OVP's 10th dorm opens for COVID-19 frontliners

By Raymund Antonio Health workers and frontliners from the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) and nearby hospitals may now stay in a free dormitory in Paco, Manila which was opened Tuesday by the office of Vice President Leni Robredo in partnership with The Lica Group. 93804664_2795344020583248_7516277284366450688_o “One more of our dorms for the frontliners working in Manila in response to the ongoing needs that has been forthcoming to us,” Robredo said in a Facebook post. The newly opened dormitory is located in Paco, Manila and is accessible to PGH, Manila Doctors Hospital, and ManilaMed—Medical Center Manila. Robredo’s office and its private partners have opened a total of 14 dormitories, four of which are located in Legazpi City, Albay; Mariveles, Bataan; Tacloban City, Leyte; and Baguio City. The vice president said the same procedures apply to the newest dorm, with health protocols in place such as social distancing to stem the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). The free service will be on a “first come, first-served” basis due to the limited capacity of the dorm. Those who are interested can apply through the vice president’s official Facebook account, VP Leni Robredo, or send a message via [email protected] or 0998-5917408. Medical professionals and non-medical frontliners like security guards and volunteers for anti-coronavirus programs can apply for the dormitory.
