By Raymund Antonio Health workers and other frontliners will no longer travel far from their homes as two more dormitories are set to open in Manila. These dorms will be opened by Vice President Leni Robredo’s office and its private partners for free under the Angat Buhay program. “Our dorms are open not just to health workers and medical practitioners but also to other frontliners like security guards, and other volunteers involved in anti-COVID-19 programs,” she said in a Facebook post. One of the dormitories is located along Roxas Boulevard, near Manila Doctors Hospital and Philippine General Hospital. The other is in Sampaloc, Manila, near Mary Chiles Hospital, Ospital ng Sampaloc, Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center, UST Hospital, and Perpetual Succor Hospital. This brought the number of dormitories provided by Robredo’s office for COVID-19 frontliners to four. The first two free dorms were previously opened in Cubao and Teacher’s Village, both located in Quezon City. Medical frontliners who are interested to avail themselves of the dormitory can apply through the vice president’s official Facebook account, VP Leni Robredo, or send a message via [email protected] or 0998-5917408. But the rooms will be on a “first come, first-served” basis due to the limited capacity of the dormitories.
