BALANGA, BATAAN — The province of Bataan has registered probably the youngest COVID-19 patient Sunday, April 5.
A one-month old boy was among the four new cases of COVID-19 positive in Bataan, while a deceased 55-year-old male was found positive for the coronavirus Sunday. Three new recoveries proved to be the day’s saving grace.
The latest fatality was a 55-year-old male from Orani who died last April 2, Thursday, due to brain herniation. His test result came back positive, bringing to three the total of COVID-19 deaths in the province.
The Bataan Provincial Health Office (PHO) said three of the four new cases of COVID-19 in the province come from Mariveles.
They were the one-month-old boy from Batangas 2, a 61-year old female, and a 28-year old male from Barangay Alion.
The fourth new case was that of a 38-year old male from Limay, which brought the the total number of COVID-19 positive case in Bataan to 22, including the three deaths.
PHO also reported three more cases of recovered patients who were brought to the isolation facility in Mariveles for the mandatory 14-day post-admission requirement. The three recovered patients were all male with ages 44 from Mariveles, 58 from Samal, and 53 from Abucay. There are now six patients who have recovered from COVID-19 in Bataan.
Bataan’s number of patients under monitoring (PUMs) decreased from 4,073 to 3,575, while mild patients under investigation (PUI) increased from 771 to 807, and the moderate to severe PUIs increasing from 115 to 124. There are now 8,312 persons suspected of COVID-19 infection cleared by the PHO.
