The Olongapo City government disclosed on Friday (Feb. 14) that one of its hospitals has taken in its first person under investigation (PUI) for the 2019 novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

“The City Health Office (CHO) and James L Gordon Memorial hospital has taken in one person under investigation yesterday (February 13, 2020) and is now in isolation,” the city government said in a statement.
It gave no other details about the PUI’s travel history.
The city government said that as of Friday, “the patient is asymptomatic -- meaning has no symptoms of COVID-19 -- and has shown progress, the patient has no more fever and cough.”
“With this development we are positive that the patient will continue to get healthy and eventually be discharged from the hospital,” it said, adding that another bulletin will be issued after they receive the results of the PUI’s medical test.
“For the meantime, health workers are still monitoring the patient and all precautionary measures have been put in place,” the local government said. “The public is assured that the CHO, James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital, and the local task force doing all to protect the public against COVID-19.”
