This was reported by Governor Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla Jr. in his Facebook page #TigasUloPa More.
The total number of arrested violators, as of Thursday, was 2,002 with the additional 288 from 1,714 that was reported previously.
Remulla said that the number of violators that he has been reporting in each city and municipality was derived from the figures being released by the Cavite-PNP.
The governor has been strict on the arrest of violators and the enforcement of the ECQ and unmindful of what the violators would say as he said that the measures in place and the actions being taken are for the safety of the people and the community.
In his Thursday’s Facebook message Remulla said: “This (the arrest number) is based verbatim on the report transmitted to me by the PNP. We will not violate human rights but we will not accept excuses either. Kaso kung Kaso (Case as may be the case).”
The estimated 2,002 individuals were arrested by police and barangay (village) officers for violating the 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew, liquor ban and other offenses imposed in the whole province.
The arrests were made at the checkpoints and street operations, particularly at nighttime.
Imus, Cavite’s capital city, had the most number of violation arrests, it was noted.
