The number of persons under investigation (PUIs) for the 2019 novel Coronavirus acute respiratory disease (2019-nCoV ARD) has climbed to 284 nationwide, the Department of Health reported Sunday.
(MANILA BULLETIN)
The DOH said that of this number, 240 were admitted to hospitals, 15 refused hospital admission, 24 have already been discharged, while two PUIs died due to other causes.
The figure also includes the country's three confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection. The first confirmed case is still admitted at the San Lazaro Hospital, the second case had died, while the other one had already recovered and went back to China.
Recently, the DOH urged PUIs who refused admission to cooperate with the authorities.
"It is our duty as citizens of this nation to assist in protecting the health of our fellowmen. We owe it to the Filipino people to do our part in preventing the spread of this disease and put everyone's minds at ease," said Health Undersecretary Rolando Enrique Domingo during a recent press briefing.
"Everyday we convince them and we want them in as soon as possible...Gusto natin nasa ospital sila para kung magkaroon sila ng karamdaman na malubha magagamot natin sila ," he added.
