No new COVID-19 deaths reported among Filipinos abroad, says DFA

No new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)-related deaths were recorded on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 among Filipinos abroad even as the total number of confirmed cases is now at 2,635 covering 46 countries and regions worldwide.
In its latest tally, the Department of Foreign Affairs reported 18 new confirmed cases and 16 new recoveries, mostly from Asia and the Pacific and Europe.
The DFA noted that the daily rate of confirmed cases decreased while the daily rate of recoveries increased as compared to yesterday’s figures.
To date, the total number of live cases among Filipinos overseas is at 1,402 with 905 total recoveries and 328 total deaths.
“The DFA, through its Embassies and Consulates, remains committed to continuously monitoring the status of our nationals abroad and providing assistance, whenever possible, to ensure their welfare as we continue to battle against COVID-19,” the foreign affairs office said in the report.
Europe remains as the region with the most number of Filipinos infected withCOVID-19 with 795, followed by the Middle East and Africa with 735, the Americas with 632 and the Asia and the Pacific with 473.
