No new case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) was reported in San Juan City in the past 24 hours, Mayor Francis Zamora disclosed on May 23, Saturday. As of May 22, Zamora said the total number of COVID-19 cases in the city remains at 302.

“Sa pangalawang pagkakataon mula March 12, 2020, wala pong naitalang bagong kaso ng COVID-19 dito sa San Juan. Napakagandang balita po para sa ating lahat (For the second time since March 12, 2020, no new COVID-19 case has been reported here in San Juan. This is great news for all of us),” he said.
The mayor said the total number of COVID-19 recoveries in the city climbed to 138 after 14 patients recovered from the disease. “Ikinagagalak ko rin pong ipaalam sa lahat na may 14 na San Juañeno naman po ang gumaling at nagkaroon ng dalawang sunod na negative test results kaya malaki rin po ang itinaas ng bilang ng Recovered (I am also pleased to inform you all that 14 San Juañenos have recovered after having two consecutive negative test results so the number of Recovered patients has increased),” he said.
Moreover, the mayor announced that the COVID-19 death count in the city remains at 40 as no one died because of the disease recently. According to the local government, Barangay Greenhills remains to have the highest number of COVID-19 cases in San Juan City with 57 confirmed cases. The neighboring Barangay West Crame came next with 33 confirmed COVID-19 cases.
So far, there were 124 COVID-19 patients from San Juan City who were either admitted to various hospitals in Metro Manila or placed under quarantine, the local government disclosed.
