Another group of 10 people aboard the cruise ship MV Diamond Princess currently docked at the Port of Yokohama in Japan tested positive for novel coronavirus, but none of them is Filipino, the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo confirmed on Thursday.
“Aside from the first reported case yesterday, no other Filipinos onboard have tested positive for the virus at this time,” the Embassy said in a statement.
This development came after Japanese authorities earlier put one Filipino crew person under the 14-day quarantine period.

The Philippine Embassy said it is working closely with Japanese authorities to extend all necessary assistance to the Filipinos still aboard, including the provision of food, medicine, face masks, and other supplies.
In addition, the Embassy provided the Filipinos its assistance by setting up a hotline phone number and email address to enable the ship-based workers to directly convey their concerns and requests.
