The daily number of new Covid-19 cases in the Philippines remained below 1,000 for four days in a row.
Department of Health's (DOH) case bulletin on Saturday, March 5, showed 941 new infections.

This figure brought the country's cumulative case count to 3,666,678. Most of the new cases were found in the National Capital Region, Calabarzon, and Central Visayas.
Active cases or those who are still sick also decreased to 49,374 or 1.3 percent of the overall case count. There were 1,784 new recoveries and 109 deaths.
Recovery tally increased to 3,560,425 and the death toll jumped to 56,879. Among the active cases, 44,586 have mild symptoms; 2,736 are moderate; 1,344 are severe; 416 are asymptomatic; and 292 are critical.
The public remained compliant in following the health protocols despite placing certain areas under Alert Level 1, said DOH Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje.
Thirty-nine areas, including Metro Manila, shifted to the lowest alert status since March 1.
"Sa kabuuan nasusunod naman ang ating minimum public health protocols. Wala namang naiulat sa aming tanggapan na mga paglabag (In general, our minimum public health protocols are still being followed. No violations have been reported to our office)," said Cabotaje in a public briefing.
"Mahigpit ang ating mga LGUs sa pagpapatupad nito sa kani-kanilang mga respective areas at may kaniya-kaniya na silang mga alituntunin dito. Pag-iibayuhin lang ng ating mga Centers of Health Development ang ating pagmu-monitor lalung-lalo na sa Alert Level 1 (Our LGUs are strict in implementing these in their respective areas and they have their own guidelines. Our Centers of Health Development will still monitor the situation, especially in areas under Alert Level 1)," she added.
